Public Relations Society

In September I got elected to the MRU Public Relations Society as the Vice President. So far to date, we have started a public newsletter filled with school and business resources, an alumni corner, tips and tricks for getting through school, student spotlights, jobs, and volunteer positions among much more.

I also took the initiative after hearing many of my peers were struggling to find their PR hours I reached out to my network and connected with local business owners in Calgary and Red Deer and set up a variety of part-time internship positions.

My role on the PRS is also to ensure I am vocalizing my peer's concerns and voices to the board and faculty. Supporting them by directing them to appropriate resources and services when neccessary.

The PRS also plans virtual networking and happy hours to try and foster a sense of community in these times where we are forced to be apart.
